Zabu Finance is an independent educational magazine about Avalanche DeFi, yield farming, and on-chain security. We publish plain-English guides, honest protocol histories, and simple tools, on a roughly twice-a-week schedule. There is no token here, no farm, no app, and nothing that will ever ask you to connect a wallet.
About this domain's past
Let's be upfront: zabu.finance wasn't always a magazine. In 2021 this domain hosted a real Avalanche yield farm. People deposited LP tokens from Trader Joe and Pangolin and earned ZABU rewards. In September 2021, an accounting flaw in the farm contract was exploited for roughly $3.2 million. The attacker minted and dumped a mountain of ZABU, the price fell to almost nothing, and the protocol never recovered.
When the domain was rebuilt, we decided the only honest use for it was teaching. That includes publishing a full, plain-English account of the exploit — no spin, no rebrand of the past, no pretending the farm still runs. A domain that watched $3.2 million vanish in an afternoon makes a pretty convincing security teacher.
How we work
- Plain English first. Every term gets explained the first time it appears. If a sentence needs a finance degree, we rewrite it.
- Numbers with humility. APYs, TVL figures, and prices in our guides are examples or approximations, clearly labeled. Crypto data moves too fast for anything else.
- No conflicts. We don't take payment to cover projects, we hold no token positions we write about, and we don't run affiliate schemes for exchanges or farms.
- Mistakes get fixed. Spot an error? Tell us and we'll correct it and note the change.
